The Association of Sacramental Ministries, Inc., Foundation & Principles.

The Association of Sacramental Ministries, Inc, (aka ASM) was conceived and founded by its then President, Brent David Fraser, in September of 2017, as an Unincorporated Association filed with the Secretary of State of California, filing number 7735. Thoughtful consideration was given to its name, having come in response to the flawed model “The Circle of Cannabis Churches”, the predominant idea being that ASM, Inc not solely rest on any singular Sacrament, but include all minority religions that honor a Sacramental plant, specifically those that fought in such a way that established laws; The Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 (RFRA) and The Religious Land use and Institutionalized Persons Act of 2000 (RLUIPA), to protect the Sacramental use of ALL Entheogenic plants. The ASM, Inc name is chosen to fulfill that purpose, and also estimated that a non specifically named Sacrament would be in keeping with the open faith nature of the Association, and less incendiary to the uneducated.

In January, 2018, ASM, Inc’s, Founder Brent David Fraser, appointed Alanna Reeves, Minister of a Nonprofit Religious Entity he had incorporated (Emerald Church of Open Faith) with world renowned Attorney Matthew S. Pappas. Fraser converted ASM to 501 (c)(3) Nonprofit status in February 2018 also.

The Founding Principles are as follows: PREAMBLE of THE ASSOCIATION OF SACRAMENTAL MINISTRIES, INC:
 –
THE ASSOCIATION OF SACRAMENTAL MINISTRIES, INC. is a fellowship of men and women who share their spiritual experience, strength and hope, in community with fellow seekers and servants, that they may fulfill their common desire for spiritual union and help others to do the same. The central requirement for membership is a desire to consciously seek connection to a “Higher Power” and Spiritual existence. There are no obligatory “dues” or “fees” of for membership as such; we are self-supporting through our own contributions.
 –
THE ASSOCIATION OF SACRAMENTAL MINISTRIES, INC. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes, nor does it judge or malign any churches that differ from its philosophy. Service to other seekers and contribution to communities is central to our lives. Our primary purpose is to seek the sunlight of the spirit and help others achieve the same. We are open to all.
 –
THE THREE ELEMENTS OF HEALING: Behavior, Brainwave, and Belief. Alteration of the first begets the natural transformation of the second and third, Which takes us back to the first, it’s cyclical, spiraling upward to elevated, enlightened existence in spirit. We affirm these in our community by practicing the three elements of Harmony, Helpfulness and Healing in all our affairs.
 –
Practitioners of holistic medicine treat conditions by treating the whole organism. Holistic treatment sees that the afflicted have physical, mental, spiritual and social needs. If either of these needs are neglected, then the afflicted is not likely to be fully healed. Our philosophy rests in addressing the systemic three components: mental, physical, and spiritual, as the one who is ill must be treated in the result of non systemic living, a mental compounding of habitual behavior, habitual perceptions, and an underlying spiritual malady. Unless these three aspects of the condition are treated, the individual will rarely be able to heal.
 –
THE ASSOCIATION OF SACRAMENTAL MINISTRIES, INC. TWELVE DETERMINATIONS:
1. Our common welfare should come first; individual Ministry growth depends upon ASM unity.
 –
2. For ASM’s group purpose there is but one ultimate authority — a loving God as He or She may express His or Herself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern.
3. The central principle for ASM membership is a desire for conscious contact with our Creator.
 –
4. ASM should be autonomous except in matters affecting additional ASM Ministries or the ASM body as a whole.
 –
5. ASM has but one primary purpose — to seek the sunlight of the spirit and to help the individual who still suffers to achieve the same.
 –
6. ASM ought never endorse, finance, or lend its name to any unrelated facility or outside enterprise, lest problems of money, property, and prestige divert us from our primary purpose.
 –
7. Every Ministry ought to be fully self-supporting, never accepting outside contributions from non ASM related entities, with the exception of where it will serve to help others.
 –
8. ASM should remain forever non-professional, but our Ministry Centers may enlist and compensate our volunteer specialists or servants for Ministry related needs.
 –
9. ASM, as such, ought always be nonprofit; but we may create service boards, committees, or independent contracts directly responsible to their service workers, whom are compensated for their time, skill and energy out of voluntary donations.
 –
10. ASM has no opinion on outside issues; hence the ASM name ought never be drawn into public controversy.
 –
11. Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain ASM integrity at the level of press, radio, internet and films.
 –
12. ASM unity is the spiritual foundation of all our traditions, ever reminding us to place ASM principles before individual Ministry agendas.
